Head of Instruction, Research, and Access, Clark University, (Worcester, MA)

Job Description:

Clark University’s Goddard Library seeks a Head of Instruction, Research, and Access. The incumbent will be a creative connector with primary responsibility for envisioning, developing, assessing and iterating instruction programs, research support in all its forms, curriculum support and reserves, borrowing, interlibrary loan, and outreach with focuses on student success, justice, and inclusion. This position leads a team of four staff as well as student employees whose roles are to serve the evolving needs of the faculty and students of the undergraduate and graduate programs of a small liberal arts university.  

Reporting to the University Librarian, the incumbent serves as a member of the Library’s Administrative Team, keeping abreast of trends, services, and issues related to all areas of responsibility and their context within higher education and other relevant industries, and implementing projects as appropriate to the Clark community. This position is an engaging one in which the successful candidate will be a team builder across the library and throughout Clark and will be an active collaborator with faculty, administrative, and staff partners. The successful candidate will have curiosity regarding technology, social justice, sustainability and how these and other larger societal contexts impact library instruction, research, information-seeking practices, and scholarly communications across disciplines.
