SATURDAY LIBRARY PAGE, Lynnfield Public Library (Lynnfield)

The Lynnfield Public Library is looking for an organized, enthusiastic person to work as a Page on Saturdays. The Library Page performs duties involving reshelving and shifting of Library materials (including books, periodicals, media, and other items) in specified order throughout all areas of the Library (including adult, teen, and child areas).
The main responsibilities of the Library Page include shelving Library materials in all formats (books, DVDs, audiobooks, CDs, magazines, etc.) in Library of Congress classification and alphabetical order, shelf reading for misplaced items, shifting collections to make room on shelves, taking inventory of assigned stack areas as needed, keeping materials neat and presentable, and carrying out additional projects as assigned. The Library Page may occasionally be requested to work on projects in various departments of the Library. The Saturday Library page works 4 hours per week, including at least 2 hours each Saturday from 12-2. The other hours may be filled in according to the page’s preference and scheduling availability. Substitute hours may occasionally be available in addition to regularly scheduled shifts.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet MA work eligibility requirements; Must be able to work Saturdays. Attention to detail; ability to shelve materials efficiently and orderly; ability to deal tactfully and courteously with library patrons and coworkers; ability to work independently; and ability to follow oral and written instructions are essential. Familiarity with the general organization of our Library and the Library of Congress classification scheme a plus!
Salary $15/hour for 4+ hours a week
