Global Business Librarian/Senior Researcher, LHH

Lee Hecht Harrison (LHH) seeks an experienced business reference librarian/researcher to join our team. LHH’s Business Information Center (BIC), our best-in-class library, serves the research needs of hundreds of executives a year on a broad range of topics, providing our clients with actionable information and critical insights. A point of competitive distinction for LHH, the BIC provides executives from a wide range of industries & functions with the business information they need to set strategy, make decisions, and take action at key career moments.

The BIC staff has the privilege of being members of the LHH global delivery team, acting as trusted partners to our LHH Advisors and the senior executive clients with whom they work around the world.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Facilitate research strategy discussions with a wide range of senior executives to understand their objectives and co-create a research strategy that will produce the information they require to move forward.
  • Conduct business research for senior executives in a wide range of disciplines and industries. Research, analyze and synthesize information into accurate answers or actionable information for those executives. Curate corporate, industry/market, people information to support executive client decision-making and career strategy.
  • Assist users in utilizing online business reference tools.
  • Measure, adjust, and create new ways to serve our clients to improve continuously the quality, value, and outcomes associated with the BIC’s research offerings.
  • Promote LHH’s business information services to our staff, our customers, and our clients.
  • Identify information and service needs, evaluate potential new resources, and assess existing holdings so that our collection remains best-in-class and enables us to respond to changing market conditions and the constantly evolving business information needs of our constituents.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Master’s in library science from an ALA-accredited program or comparable degree.
  • Business research & database skills; mastery of Factiva, Nexis, Pitchbook, S&P, D&B and/or equivalent business reference toolsets required.
  • Minimum 5-7+ years of client-facing business reference/research experience in a corporate library or other business setting.
  • Experience in a professional service, career mobility, HR, talent development, and/or human capital setting preferred.
  • Experience advising and serving the information needs of leaders at all levels of the organization – including c-suite – across a range of industries and functions.
  • Competitive intelligence, KM experience a plus.
  • Experience selling research/business information services (internally or externally) a plus.
