The Schwob Memorial Library at Columbus State University seeks applicants for a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Librarian. Duties include active liaison work with STEM faculty (including but not limited to biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, robotics, astronomy); collection development and maintenance in STEM disciplines; provide general and specialized instruction and reference services; integrate emerging technologies into user services. As a member of the Library Faculty, the STEM Librarian actively pursues professional development and participates in relevant service opportunities as outlined in the Library Faculty Standards of Excellence
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include an ALA accredited Master’s degree in Library Science / Studies and at least two years of reference experience related to STEM disciplines, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. The successful candidate will have knowledge of STEM-related library and curricular resources; knowledge of best practices in collection development in STEM subject areas for academic libraries; an understanding of the role of an effective liaison; and the ability to critically assess instruction and reference practices.
