The University of Oklahoma School of Library and Information Studies invites applications for a non-tenure track renewable term faculty position for the Tulsa campus, beginning in August 2021. This position will support the new Bachelor of Science in Information Science and Technology which began on the Tulsa campus in Fall 2020. It will also include support of the long-standing Master of Library and Information Studies degree on the Tulsa campus.
The responsibilities of this position include teaching, advising, actively recruiting new students, committee membership, and other duties as assigned by the School Director. The position is 75% teaching and 25% recruiting, advising, and departmental service. Successful candidates will be expected to create connections and relationships with area community colleges, local industry, and area institutions (such as libraries and more) in order to facilitate recruiting of undergraduate and master’s students. They will coordinate with the OU Tulsa recruiting office and collaborate with other programs on the OU Tulsa campus. Advising will include program advising of undergraduate and master’s students, internship site coordination and supervision, and similar duties.
The teaching load is 6 courses per year, one of which will typically be in the summer semester. It is a full-time 12-month appointment on a 3-year renewable contract. Salary is competitive and includes benefits. This is an on-campus position in Tulsa, OK and not a remote position. Ph.D. required.
