Northeastern University Libraries seeks an innovative and dynamic individual to join our STEM & Entrepreneurship team. Reporting as the Head of STEM & Entrepreneurship, the STEM Librarian will serve as the liaison to departments in the Bouvé College of Health Science, the College of Engineering, the Khoury College of Computer and Information Science, and the College of Science. The STEM Librarian provides teaching, learning, and research support through virtual and in-person instructional sessions, consultations, and workshops. Additionally, the STEM Librarian will also develop expertise in a specialized support area such as bibliometrics, data science, scholarly communications, or others in order to lead our interdisciplinary efforts in the assigned area.

About the Research and Learning Services Division:
Research and Learning Services includes Research and Instruction, Information, Delivery, and Access Services (IDEAS); University Archives and Special Collections; and the Digital Media Commons Recording Studios. Research and Instruction is managed collaboratively by the Head of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities, the Manager of Global Campus Engagement and Online Learning, and the Head of STEM and Entrepreneurship who report to the Associate Dean for Research and Learning Services.
About Research and Instruction and the STEM and Entrepreneurship Team:
A major focus in Research and Instruction is online learning and the creation of interdisciplinary and discipline-specific learning objects. Other signature initiatives include expanding collaboration with labs, centers, and institutes through research data services, support for systematic reviews and other forms of scholarly communication. Team members are deeply engaged in teaching and learning support and are actively developing partnerships and new modes of support for information, data, and digital literacies. As a member of the STEM and Entrepreneurship Team the STEM Librarian will contribute in each of these areas, and additionally will help expand into new and emerging service points.
Qualifications:
- MLS or equivalent degree.
- At least 2 year of experience working as a research librarian in an academic research environment, preferably with a STEM background or supporting STEM fields.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong skills in collaboration and teamwork within a dynamic, constantly evolving environment.
- Strong service orientation and understanding of user needs. Must be willing to experiment, learn, adapt, and iterate.
