Position Duties:
(This work is shared with other members of the seven-member team.)
- Provide reference and reader’s advisory service in person, over the telephone, or other emerging technologies
- Maintain selected areas of the collection
- Participate in development, delivery, and promotion of programs for adults and people of all ages
- Assisting in writing and implementing grants as assigned
Qualifications:
- American Library Association-accredited Masters of Library Science (candidates currently enrolled in an MLS program may also be considered)
- Excellent customer service orientation and a “turned outward” approach to community engagement
- Bilingual abilities desirable (English and Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Arabic, Somali, Dari, or other community language).
- Springfield residency within two years of hire
Hours and Compensation:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
- $55,798.42/yr, with optional opportunity for overtime
- Thirteen paid holidays, plus paid vacation, personal, and sick time after a 6 month probationary period
