DocsBox Outreach Internship, State Archives of North Carolina (Raleigh, NC/Hybrid)

Description:
The intern will work with the State Archives Outreach Coordinator to build a box of reproductions relating to Freedom Park. Research will include surveys of digitized images/documents and the online catalog to identify records in State Archives’ collections relating to each of the 20+ individuals the Park memorializes.
Major Tasks Involved:
- Researching State Archives collections
- Gathering, reproducing, and organizing images and documents in folders
- Labeling reproductions with appropriate citations; creating and labeling folders
- Rehousing original Freedom Park organization collection
- Teamwork with staff to produce final product
Qualifications:
History, public history, American Studies, or archives concentrations preferred. Graduate student or advance undergraduate.
Estimated hours:
10 hours/week
Able to work remotely? Yes. Hybrid with weekly research onsite at our downtown Raleigh location.
