Posted June 8, 2026
Description
Longfellow House Washington’s Headquarters National Historic Site (LONG) preserves a remarkable Georgian house in Cambridge, MA whose occupants shaped our nation. It was a site of colonial enslavement and community activism, George Washington’s first long-term headquarters of the American Revolution, and the place where Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote his canon of 19th-century American literature.
The site offers community events throughout the year, including the Summer Arts Festival, Winter Workshop Series, Holiday Open House, Longfellow Birthday, and more. All events are free and open to the public. The Event Support VIPs will be key members of the events team, engaging the public, providing logistical and physical support, and contributing to the successful growth of LONG’s community offerings.
