Tutoring Coordinator, Boston Arts Academy (Boston, MA)

Seeking a tutoring coordinator/library assistant to work 20 hours per week to assist in the Boston Arts Academy High School Library. Hours available are from 1:00pm – 5:00pm Monday through Thursday, 11:00 AM-3:00 PM Fridays. This position is for the 2026-2027 school year, projected to begin in early September, 2026.
Tasks include assisting students with homework, supervising after-school tutors and volunteers, creating book displays, facilitating circulation, shelving, processing new books, technology maintenance and troubleshooting. Other duties as assigned.
This position is great for individuals seeking experience in a school library setting and who aren’t shy about interacting directly with students. We are a small library, and everyone does a bit of everything, so it’s an exciting opportunity to get experience in all parts of how a library works.

Pay: Current budget projects $22/hr
Preferred Qualifications:
*Current student in a masters program for Library and Information Science. Ideally, you have taken coursework relating to serving teen populations.
*Experience in customer service roles and/or working with teen populations in any capacity
*Experience working in a school, particularly an after-school programming role
*Knowledge of Young Adult literature and trends
*Boston Resident preferred, everyone welcome to apply
