Mountain View Therapy is an affirming, inclusive telehealth practice based in Medford, MA, serving LGBTQ+ clients, neurodivergent folks, and other communities who deserve affirming, compassionate care. We are a small, collaborative team of eleven clinicians, and we’re looking for an experienced Billing Coordinator to join us on a part-time basis.

About the Role
The Billing Coordinator is responsible for the health of our revenue cycle. You’ll ensure that clinical sessions are accurately documented and billed, payments are reconciled in a timely manner, and that both clinicians and clients feel well supported. You’ll serve as a professional point of contact for clients and insurance carriers, and as a trusted partner to our clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
Submit electronic insurance claims and manage the full billing cycle in SimplePractice
Reconcile Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) and verify bank deposits against billed amounts
Follow up on denied or outstanding claims with insurance carriers
Serve as the primary point of contact for client billing questions and payment plans
Audit contracted rates against payouts to ensure full payment
Lead a weekly “Study Hall” session to help clinicians complete documentation
Follow up with clinicians on missing or inaccurate documentation
Report persistent challenges or backlogs to the clinical supervisor
Qualifications
Previous experience in behavioral health billing
Proficiency in SimplePractice and basic accounting or data-entry software
High degree of accuracy in data entry and financial reconciliation
Ability to handle sensitive financial conversations with warmth and professionalism
Experience handling confidential health and financial information in compliance with HIPAA
The Details
Pay: $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience
Hours: Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week to start, with potential for increased hours over time
Location: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person days at our Medford office (training will take place in Medford)
