Are you a detail-oriented person who is looking for a way to get more involved with New England Archivists? Are you a grammar and punctuation nerd? Do you enjoy staying on top of the latest news and innovations in the field?
The NEA Newsletter Committee seeks applications for the positions of Session Reports Editor and This Season in New England History Editor. Editors serve three-year terms (July 2026-June 2029) and jointly arrange for the quarterly publication and distribution of the NEA Newsletter. The four editors take turns serving as main editor and assistant editor on issues, and all editors work to solicit feature articles and columns. Committee members become senior editors about halfway through their terms and serve as non-voting members of the NEA Board, which includes reporting to the board, preparing the Newsletter budget, and attending board meetings.
Specific editorial duties for the open positions include:
Session Reports Editor – Arranges for reports of NEA spring meetings to be published in the July issues of the Newsletter
This Season in New England History Editor – Collects and edits president’s column; solicits seasonal photographs from NEA repositories; solicit and edits NEA member spotlights; solicits and edits NEA award announcements
Qualifications:
These appointed positions are open to all NEA members.
