Job Description
The Morse Institute Library has an opening for a creative and enthusiastic part-time Information
Services Librarian (19 hours per week.) The Morse Institute Library is a library with strong community support in the town of Natick.
Responsibilities
This is a position that offers a lot of latitude for growth, and there are many available
opportunities for the right candidate to support and grow the position in new and exciting directions both inside the physical library, and out into the Natick community. Under the supervision of the Information Services Supervisor, the six-person Info Services team plans and oversees services for adults, including reference assistance and reader’s advisory. They engage with the community, supporting outreach efforts throughout the library and community. The part-time position also includes staffing shifts at the information desk; and optional work with the Programming Librarian in developing programming for adults. The ideal candidate would also have strong technology skills, and familiarity with social media platforms. Bilingual abilities, experience with Springshare apps, Sierra, and/or basic computer
troubleshooting skills are a plus.

Qualifications
The Information Services Librarian should have a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse
population. In some circumstances, specialized education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the educational requirements of a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited institution.
Hours and Compensation
This is a part-time, non-benefited position (19 hours per week) starting at $34.89/hr at Step 1.
The full salary range is $34.89/hr to $41.85/her with annual steps outlined in the Library’s CBA. There is a set weekly schedule including Saturdays and two evenings a week.
