Description:

The Weston Historical Society (WHS), a private non-profit historical society located in Weston,
Massachusetts, is seeking a Simmons SLIS graduate student familiar with data base
management to assist with our PastPerfect cataloging system. We currently use PastPerfect 4,
with records on only one computer. The plan is to upgrade to PastPerfect 5 Web Edition. Work
would include cleaning up the existing data base, implementing the new online system, training
volunteers, and developing an interface with our website. Experience with data base
management and/or PastPerfect software is required.

Compensation and Requirements:

Student will report to WHS president Pam Fox. WHS offices are located in the Josiah Smith
Tavern, 358 Boston Post Road. Availability on Tuesdays preferred but not required for initial
work. Where possible, work can be done remotely. $20/hour stipend.
