SALALM Conference Attendance Scholarship, Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials

Description
Since its founding in 1956, the Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM) has engaged in various projects and programs designed to advance the scholarly study of Latin America, the Caribbean, Iberia, and the Latinx diasporas. This award is open to master’s candidates enrolled in ALA-accredited (or equivalent) programs in library, information, or archival studies, as well as early-career librarians in the U.S. and Canada, to attend the SALALM 71st Annual Conference, taking place June 8-11, 2026 in Madison, Wisconsin. This year’s conference is hosted by University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries.
Qualifications
Scholarship candidates must have completed at least one quarter or semester of study, or be early-career librarians within three years of graduation from their MLIS program, and demonstrate a strong interest in Latin America, the Caribbean, Iberia, or the Latinx diasporas.
