Part-Time Archive Sorter, Pachachoag Archive, (Worchester, MA)

Responsibilities

Sorting and creating an inventory of research papers and materials on Native American life in Worcester, Massachusetts and beyond. These papers will be included in the Pakachoag Archive, a repository of materials to aid research on Native American life in Worcester.

Qualifications

Archive inventory experience required. Efficiency, competence and speed all highly desired. Applicant should be reliable, able to work independently and with others. Candidates will be expected to lift and move moderately heavy (30-50 lbs.) boxes, take digital scans and photos, and write useful, pertinent inventory notes. Solid knowledge of US history helpful. Job site is the College of the Holy Cross Library (Worcester, MA).

Hours and Compensation

Start: January-March 2026 (1 week only; timing flexible) End: December 2027 Hours Vary: Summer 2026 and 2027 mainly; 1 week Winter 2026 and 2027 Hours//schedule: o Winter 2026: 1 week /15 hours o Summer 2026: 25 hours/week for 12 weeks o Winter 2027: 1 week /15 hours o Summer 2027: 25 hours/week for 12 weeks o In addition: o 2026-2027: 3 days of review with Pakachoag Steering Committee and outside consultant in Native Studies/Archives Pay: $25.00/hr.
