Weekend and Evening Supervisor, Salem State University, (Salem, MA)

Overview:

The Frederick E. Berry Library at Salem State University is seeking a temporary part-time Help Desk Evening Supervisor. This individual will assist library patrons, assist with the supervision of student employees, and help oversee the evening/weekend operations of the library facility. The individual must be able to work at least 15, but no more than 29 hours per week. This is a temporary contracted position, but the position has the potential for renewal.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in positions that require attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and highly responsible, with the ability to work successfully with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deal politely and tactfully with students, staff, faculty, and public patrons.
  • Ability to develop the skills required to supervise student employees.
  • Must be able to commit to evening and weekend availability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in libraries, bookstores, or retail establishments a plus.
  • Desktop, laptop, and office equipment troubleshooting.

Working Location:

This is an onsite position in Salem, with in-person responsibilities, which may require occasional/frequent/regular work on evenings and weekends.
