Senior Library Associate-Meeting Room Coordinator, Reading Public Library (Reading, MA)

Reading Public Library seeks a reliable, customer-focused, and detail-oriented team member to coordinate meeting room operations and provide patron services.

The successful candidate will manage meeting room reservations for community groups and organizations, assist with meeting room technology, and support library communications efforts as needed. As a senior paraprofessional, this individual is a peer leader and creative problem-solver who can maintain positive relationships with patrons and staff. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to solve problems efficiently while supporting community and library goals.

This non-exempt, 25-hour-per-week position includes one evening shift and Sunday shift opportunities at premium rates. The expected hiring range is $28.75-$30.11 per hour.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Ability to manage multiple calendars and reservation requests efficiently
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Comfort with technology, including AV equipment and scheduling software
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Team collaboration and clear communication across departments. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in any field, or
    equivalent;
  • Two (2) years of work experience with library automation and organization; or
  • Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional
    work experience substituting for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
