Senior Library Technician – Children’s Room, Levi Heywood Memorial Library, (Gardner, MA)

Job Description:

We’re looking for an organized, friendly, engaging, and public-service-oriented person to fill a Senior Library Technician position in the children’s room of the Levi Heywood Memorial Library. This position is responsible for staffing the children’s room circulation desk; planning and running story times and library programs; assisting patrons in the use of the library catalog, internet computers and other technology; assisting the children’s librarian with collection development; and assisting patrons of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities under the supervision of a staff librarian. This position will occasionally be called upon to work adult circulation desks as well.

Qualifications:

High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred. Strong customer service experience, ability to show good judgement and flexibility. Experience working with children in groups required. Prior experience in libraries and familiarity with Evergreen software desired. Knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic desired.

Salary:

$22.31 per hour. This is a full-time benefited position.
