Job Description: Reimagine service to children, teens, and families.
Lucius Beebe Memorial Library seeks an experienced, skilled librarian to envision, design, direct, and execute programs and services that thoughtfully reimagine a relevant and engaging youth services department.
In addition to collection development, programming, outreach, family engagement, reference, and readers’ advisory, Department Head responsibilities include scheduling, organizing workloads and workflow, data collection and analysis, project management, and handling patron and building issues.
The ideal candidate will excel at leading strategy and innovation, designing evidence-based solutions to community needs.
Qualifications: MLS. Experience in managing staff, team projects, and budgets. Demonstrated familiarity with child development, literature, and programs, with focus on supporting literacy. Embraces trends in development, technology, and educational methodologies.
Schedule: 35.5 hours per week, including evenings and a Saturday rotation. Sundays optional at time and a half.
Pay: $1,398.56-$1,655.18/week, on a nine-step scale.
