Collection Management Assistant, Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America, Harvard Radcliffe Institute (Cambridge, MA)

Job Description:
The Schlesinger Library has an immediate opening for a collection management
assistant to rehouse and create finding aids for collections recently acquired by the
Library to make them accessible to researchers.
Responsibilities:
- Refolding materials
- Creating folder lists in Excel and in an EAD template
- Reboxing collections Labeling and barcoding boxes
- Shelving collections or preparing them for transfer to the Harvard Depository
Qualifications:
- Completion of graduate-level introductory archives course (Simmons LIS438 or equivalent)
- Proven attention to detail
- Ability to lift boxes up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
Hours and Compensation:
This is a part-time, temporary non-benefited position. It has been approved through
June 2026, with the possibility for an extension contingent upon continued funding.
The Assistant will work 14 hours a week. Hours must be completed in two 7-hour
days, Monday-Friday, between 9am and 5pm.
Pay: $21.00 / hour
