Job Description
The Dean will possess the vision and leadership skills necessary to advance the library and its core mission, play a key role in integrating the library into campus-wide initiatives, such as student success and institutional strategic planning, and lead the development of creative and innovative library services and programming. Experience in library management, including strategic planning and assessment, is essential. The Dean will also have experience with the latest developments in pedagogy, as well as innovative library technologies and initiatives. The Dean will work collaboratively with the academic deans and other members of the Provost’s Council to develop and implement policies and programs that support the university’s academic mission, including in the key areas of information literacy and research support. In addition to participating in and contributing to long-range and strategic planning activities for the Division of Academic Affairs, the Dean will work to establish partnerships with stakeholders across the University, the community, and the state in advancing the mission and the strategic plan of the University and the library. The Dean of the Library reports to the Provost and Executive Vice President.
This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, professional non-union position. Salary is $140,000 to $145,000 commensurate with education and experience.
