Website Marketing Internship, Boston Medical Library, (Westborough, MA)

The Website/Marketing Library Intern will support a range of projects related to website development and marketing on social media outlets. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to gain experience in areas such as website development, marketing of special collections and use of social media to promote the library.  Reporting to the BML’s Executive Library Director, the intern will work closely with the Curator of Medical Collections to promote the BML and its collections.

We especially encourage graduate students in library science, archival studies, public history, museum studies, or information science to apply.

This is a remote position, however, on-site event attendance may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the Boston Medical Library website.
  • Post announcements of BML events, collections, medical research or important medical dates on the website and other social media outlets (e.g., BlueSky, TikTok, Facebook, etc.).
  • Link electronic resources (e.g., PastPerfect, ArchivesSpace, NLM) to the website
  • Assist in the development, planning, and execution of BML events

Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate of an ALA-accredited library science, archival studies, or related program.
  • Interest in Special Collections libraries.
  • Ability to collaborate and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Computer literate and internet experience with social media outlets.

Hours and Compensation

  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • $16.00/hour
