Job Description
The Rosenberg Library’s Galveston & Texas History Center in Galveston, Texas, seeks a processing intern to assist with the Moody Family Papers and Business Records. Under the supervision of the Manager of Special Collections, the intern will gain hands-on and on-site experience in the archival profession.
Position Duties
- Primary responsibilities include learning how to physically assess, arrange, and re-house materials, as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program or recent graduate
- Ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively both as a team member and independently in an environment where consultation, flexibility, and cooperation are essential
- Strong decision-making skills
- Preferred – coursework completed in archival studies information science.
Hours & Compensation
- Temporary position (40 hours/week for 5 weeks). Tuesday – Saturday, on-site.
- $20.00 per hour
