Job Summary:

Position Duties:
- Reporting to the Head of Academic Research and Education, and as a member of the larger Research and Education Department, the Research and Methodology Librarian provides support to faculty, researchers, post docs, staff, and students at Yale School of Medicine in support of their research.
- Working primarily on evidence synthesis projects, such as systematic reviews, meta-analyses, scoping reviews, and state-of-the-art reviews, the librarian will contribute through consultations, educational programming, and partnering with research teams.
- Bringing a rigorous and methodical approach to projects, this librarian will use multiple, sophisticated databases to consult and instruct on library solutions to complex research questions.
- They will understand protocol development, particularly around the search and inclusion and exclusion criteria, software that can manage screening of results and standard research methodologies and standards.
- The librarian also cultivates partnerships with other academic research departments and helps direct researchers to resources on the medical campus or at Yale.
- The librarian will also guide the intake process for complex search projects and serve as a resource for colleagues.
- The position will build on the medical library’s fifteen years of expertise in supporting systematic reviews, by identifying emerging models for scalability of services, and innovative ways to be more efficient with increasingly dynamic digital tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school.
- In selected instances, a graduate degree in a related discipline may be substituted for a master’s degree in library science.
- A minimum of two years of related professional experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the research process used in evidence syntheses in the biomedical and health sciences.
- Demonstrated skills with biomedical databases and tools used in literature reviews.
- Demonstrated understanding of methodology best practices and familiarity with requirements from funding agencies and scholarly publishers.
- Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications and analytical ability.
- Demonstrated record of designing projects and bringing them to conclusion in a timely fashion. Ability to work collaboratively and independently with varied groups within a complex organization and dynamic team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing training to researchers and students, participation in review teams, and a track record of scholarly publications. Experience working in an academic medical library.
Hours & Compensation:
- 37.5 hours total / week
- Hybrid, with three days required on-site
