This internship offers an introduction to a career in publishing from a broad perspective. As an intern, you
will be exposed to various aspects of academic publishing, and will work closely with the Editorial,
Production, Sales, Marketing, and Finance departments. You will be expected to perform daily
administrative tasks, as well as assist in small-to-medium-sized projects related to office administration.
This position will be based out of the Boston office at 121 High Street.

Responsibilities


Specific duties include but may not be limited to:
− Organizing Excel files
− Helping prepare manuscripts for typesetting
− Conducting and organizing market research in the Americas
− Helping prepare for upcoming conferences
− Maintaining up-to-date records for subscription orders
− Liaising with business partners as needed
− Checking proofs and author corrections for compliance with house style
− Overseeing the delivery of author contracts
− Assisting Sales with customer communication and market feedback
− Processing invoices
− Processing gratis copy requests
− Other administrative duties as required

Qualifications

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:
− Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
− Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style
− Previous experience with copyediting
− Interest in a career in publishing
− Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and complete complex projects
− Excellent verbal and written communication skills
− Strong organizational skills
− Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) a plus, but not required

Compensation

Thisis a paid position of $17 per hour. There are two open positionsforthisrole, each consisting of
approximately 10 hours perweek, dependent on schedule. The earlieststart date forthis position is ASAP and
the position will run until late May with the possibility of extension.
