Reporting to the Director for the Miller Learning Center and Student Success, the Student Success Librarian will utilize user needs assessment methods to cultivate welcoming, meaningful, and inclusive connections with students and student groups across campus. They will work collaboratively with co-curricular units and departments on campus to identify and develop sustainable, high-impact initiatives that engage and support student learning. Lead and/or coordinate workshops, programs, and events that support student success that connect students with library expertise, services, collections, and spaces including work with the First Year Odyssey program, First Year Writing Seminars, the Writing Center, and the open textbook initiative. This position will help to plan and coordinate the library’s participation in undergraduate orientation activities and actively work to create a sense of belonging for students within the library and on campus. Finally, working collaboratively with members of the Academic Engagement Unit, they will develop and create digital instructional assets to allow for asynchronous support for identified courses or other teaching sessions.
This position will contribute to division services and projects and is expected to work collaboratively with colleagues across all library divisions in service of the library’s mission. Since this position will be focused on engaging with students, there will likely be some evening/weekend work required.
Advertised Salary: $60,000-$70,000
