Sciences Librarian, Bucknell University, (Lewisburg, PA)

Job Description:

The Sciences Librarian is directly responsible for supporting and adding value to Bucknell students’ education by serving as a central information resource for faculty and students in the natural sciences and computer science, and providing general research support as part of a team of librarians in a liberal arts setting. This position provides research support and instructional services, selects, organizes, and provides access to information in the relevant disciplines, and supports the campus community in exploring the role of artificial intelligence in higher education libraries and information technology organizations. The Sciences Librarian is fully engaged with faculty and students providing relevant instruction, outreach, and support for scholarship. The Sciences Librarian is expected to contribute to a work environment that is inclusive, diverse and supportive of all members of a vibrant and diverse University community, including students, faculty and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education:ALA-accredited Masters degree (MLS) in library/information science by May 2025. Undergraduate or other degree in Sciences, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Professional Work Experience: 2 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent in transferable roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: ​Additional relevant subject area master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of (or strong interest in learning about) artificial intelligence and its potential applications in higher education and STEAM fields.
  • Professional Work Experience: 2 years of professional librarian experience in an academic library.
  • Teaching experience

Salary Range: 54,080.00-67,600.00
