About Us:
Nativity Preparatory School of Boston seeks a passionate and dedicated part-time librarian to staff our small school library 2-3 days a week. Responsibilities:
● Assist students with checking books in and out, fostering their love for independent reading.
● Curate our library’s collection by selecting and weeding materials to meet the needs of our diverse learners.
● Work with Destiny Library Management Software to enhance catalog.
● Collaborate with teachers to provide resources for student research projects.
● Create and lead engaging programs like book talks, author visits, book clubs, and literacy-themed events.
What We’re Looking For:
● A passion for working with students and supporting their literacy development.
● Enthusiasm for fostering a welcoming and inclusive library environment.
● Current MLIS students are highly encouraged to apply!
● No school library certification is required—we value creativity, initiative, and a love of learning.
Commitment:
This is a volunteer position requiring a few hours two or three days a week. We are happy to discuss scheduling and tailor the role to fit your availability and interests.
