Summer School Overview:
Summer@Carroll is a five-week summer school program for students entering grades 1-9 who have been diagnosed with a language-based learning difference, such as dyslexia. Students participate in academic classes and recreational programming each day. Carroll School is an equal opportunity employer that offers competitive salaries.

Position Summary:
This position reports to the Tutor Supervisor and the Summer@Carroll Director. Tutors provide individualized Orton-Gillingham instruction to students enrolled in Summer@Carroll. This position requires a candidate with experience teaching students with language-based learning differences.

Responsibilities:

● Work with students in 1:1 or paired tutorials to teach the Orton-Gillingham curriculum that is specific to Carroll School
● Research and select learning materials to facilitate tutoring; design individualized multi-sensory materials
● Attend mandatory Staff Orientation along with a required departmental meeting mid program
● Contribute weekly updates on tutorial for families (using Seesaw)
● Complete academic reports detailing progress and areas of concern for each individual student
● Share progress with parents in conferences at the conclusion of the summer program

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
● Associate Level (or higher) Orton-Gillingham training course with practicum
● Experience teaching students with language-based learning differences
● Knowledge of test administration techniques and procedures
● Ability to teach using multi-sensory methods of instruction
