Under the direction of the Library Director, the Administrative Assistant position performs complex administrative and clerical work in support of the daily operations of the Library while providing customer service to patrons; requires tact and discretion working in a flexible work environment; performs all other related work as required. 

Qualifications:

High School equivalency; Associate Degree or some additional library coursework preferred.  One (1) to three (3) years of relevant customer service and/or administrative experience, within a public library system preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: 

  • Knowledge of analytics, spreadsheets, and website management, WordPress preferred.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Library Systems (ILS), Evergreen preferred. 
  • Knowledge of invoicing and budgeting, including knowledge of Munis (municipal financial software), preferred. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences including public officials and the general public. 
  • Ability to handle confidential patron, municipal, and other sensitive information.
  • Skill in organizational, writing, interpersonal, and collaborative communication.Computer skills that encompass effective use of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, email, social media, internet browser, and library software.
  • Google Suite and Canva skills preferred.
  • Customer service skills. 

Hours: 40 hours/week including at least one evening per week; required to participate in the weekend rotation to include Sundays (Sunday Hours Sept-May).

$22.26 – $27.49  / hour
