Position Summary
The SLIS Doctoral Studies Program is seeking a personable, organized SLIS Master’s student to work as the doctoral program assistant. The position is ideal for candidates with great interpersonal and administration skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. This flexible online position is for 8 hours a week during the Fall and Spring semesters and 5 hours a week during the summer. It pays $19 an hour. Preferences will be given to students who started the program this fall (Fall 2024) or will start next spring (Spring 2025).
Responsibilities
You will work with the Director of the SLIS Doctoral Program and the Committee on Doctoral Studies to:
- Provide operational support for doctoral students and the Committee on Doctoral Studies, including taking committee meeting minutes, scheduling meetings, collecting, organizing, and formatting documents, and supporting activities/events.
- Manage the doctoral admissions process, including working with the SLIS Admissions Office to process applications and schedule application interviews.
- Provide support for ad hoc projects concerning the doctoral program.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work at SLIS and get to know SLIS faculty, staff, and students. The position is available starting Spring 2025.
