Call for Members, Medieval Academy of America’s Graduate Student Committee

The goal of the Graduate Student Committee (GSC) is to act on behalf of graduate student members of the Academy to voice their concerns about medieval studies, and to promote their participation within both the Academy and the broader academic community. In addition to fostering international and interdisciplinary exchange, the committee is especially dedicated to providing guidance on research, teaching, publishing, professionalization, funding, and employment through conference panels, the GSC newsletter, and the GSC mentorship program.
The committee also seeks to bring graduate students across disciplines together through use of the GSC social media presence on Facebook and Twitter.
Composition: Six appointed members, including a chair, who has a nonvoting seat on Council. All members must be graduate students and members of the Medieval Academy.
Term: Two years, rotating. The date in parentheses is the final year of the incumbent’s current term in office. The administrative year for committees runs from annual meeting to annual meeting.
