Library of Congress Junior Fellows Program, (Remote)

The Library of Congress is seeking applicants for its next Junior Fellows Program, a summer internship from May 19 through July 25, 2025. This 10-week, full-time paid internship is open to undergraduate and graduate students and recent graduates interested in learning and conducting research using the resources of the largest library in the world. Remote and onsite project opportunities are available. The deadline to apply is Monday, Nov. 18, 2024

The 2025 Junior Fellows Program will host approximately 40 Junior Fellows working on 35 projects across the Library of Congress. Junior Fellows will work with library mentors on diverse projects that enhance access to and engagement with the collections.

Junior Fellows Program projects provide rewarding opportunities to engage with the Library’s resources, interpret collections, and share products that position the Library of Congress as a dynamic center for fostering innovation, sparking creativity, and building lifelong connections.

Qualifications

The National Library of Medicine Associate Fellowship Program is open to those who meet the following qualifications:

  • Hold United States Citizenship
  • Reside in the United States 
  • Be at least 18 years old by June 30, 2025
  • Have earned an American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master’s degree, by June 30, 2025, or within the previous five years; If you are a student, you must be able to show proof of your degree by June 30, 2025.  

Preferred candidates should:

  • Hold United States Citizenship
  • Have experience in a library or health sciences environment
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in leadership

NLM Fellowship

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) seeks early and second career librarians within five years of graduation interested in advancing equitable and innovative futures for biomedical libraries to participate in a one-year fellowship that fosters the development of librarians seeking to lead in medical or health sciences libraries.

Appointment Length:

This is a one-year research appointment starting July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026. The 2025 – 2026 Associate Fellowship Program year will be remote. Program hours will be 8:30 a.m.—5:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in an ALA-accredited library/information science program, earned by June of the year of appointment or within five years. Undergraduate degrees can be in any major.
  • United States citizenship.
  • Desirable, but not essential:
    • Work experience in a library or health sciences environment.
    • Demonstrated interest or experience in leadership.

Participant Benefits:

  • Annual stipend of $68,405.00

  • Training and Travel Allowance that can be used for attendance at local and national conferences and other relevant training materials as determined by NLM and ORISE.
