Wheaton College is looking for its next Instruction & Design Librarian! With this role we are looking to strengthen the coordination of instructional design and assessment for our digital and informational literacy fluency efforts. There is space and support in this role to explore your interests and to grow alongside the college’s new curriculum, major offerings, and initial graduate-level programs. We are seeking a candidate with a background or interest in supporting the Sciences & Mathematics division of the college, including our new nursing major.

Anticipated hiring range for this role is between $62k and $65k. This position requires regular on campus presence for teaching and consultation purposes and offers options for a partially remote schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Library Science and 1-3 years work experience in libraries, information literacy instruction, assessment, instruction design and/or similar.
- Ability to support the information and research needs of undergraduate students in STEM disciplines as demonstrated by education or work history.
- Experience working in academic libraries, lesson planning, and teaching.
- Broad knowledge of approaches to teaching in academic libraries, experimentation with a variety of pedagogies.
- Understanding of basic instructional design and assessment principles.
- Demonstrated commitment to incorporating inclusive pedagogies.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies independently.
- Familiarity with research design, data collection and analysis methods.
- Experience providing reference interviews and consultations.
- Experience with LibGuides, Articulate, and Zoom a plus.
- Experience using Canvas or other learning management systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, to remain organized, and to drive initiatives forward with support.
- Ability to engage with people at all skill levels.
- Disposition as a creative problem solver with ability to suggest multiple solutions.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with campus stakeholders, including students, instructors, and staff.
- Aptitude for working effectively with students, instructors, staff, and colleagues; enthusiasm for delivering high quality and timely service to an academic community.
- Or equivalent combination of education and employment history.
