George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library is seeking a full-time Assistant Youth
Services Librarian to join our Youth Services Programming team. The Assistant Youth Services Librarian
will engage children, teens, and families in their library experience. We are looking for someone with
customer service experience and a background working with children and families.
In This Role You Will:
● Work to create a welcoming culture for children, teens, and families at the library.
● Create and lead inclusive, age appropriate programs for children, teens and their families,
including storytimes, STEM, art, literacy and more.
● Support the Youth Services team in collection development.
● Provide assistance including recommending books, tools, databases and other resources.
● Assist in promoting the library through social media.
● Participate in the school outreach program.
● Perform daily circulation tasks and manage tasks as assigned.
You Will Need To Be:
● Organized and meticulous.
● Friendly and communicative with staff and patrons.
● Enthusiastic about libraries as a community resource and dedicated to working with patrons of all
ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
● Excited to learn new skills.
● Able to work with minimal direct supervision, take initiative, and thrive in a collaborative
environment.
● Able to supervise patrons’ use of the library, including redirecting and setting boundaries.
You Will Need To Have:
● Knowledge of child development and experience working with children, teens, and their families.
● BA in a relevant field and an interest in pursuing library certifications (paralibrarianship, MLIS)
● Customer service experience.
● Strong technology and research skills.
● Strong communication, writing, and speaking skills
You Will Earn:
Salary starts at $20.00/hour.

Schedule: Full time permanent position, 40 hours per week, including weekends and evenings.
