Graduate Assistant for Student Organization Support, Simmons University: Jennifer Eckert Center for Leadership and Engagement, (Boston, MA)

Summary: The Graduate Assistant for the Jennifer Eckert Center for Leadership and Engagement is responsible for tasks and activities that support the work of the Jennifer Eckert Center for Leadership and Engagement. Additional responsibilities in Residence Life on call rotation, with on campus apartment and meal plan, can be added for interested candidates.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Support the Everyday Leadership Pathway programming through record-keeping, event planning, and recruitment efforts
  • Plan and implement student programming for the Center, including development of calendars,  marketing, and social media materials
  • Become familiar with and serve as support for the Campus Connect (Campus Groups) student engagement platform, including facilitation of group trainings and individual support for end users

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as front-facing, front desk support
  • assist with oversight of student Office Assistants
  • General office support
  • Residence Life on call rotation, if interested
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program
  • Creative, highly organized, with outstanding attention to detail 
  • An interest in event planning and working with student groups
  • Exceptional customer service , communication, and problem-solving skills 
  • Experience with Canva or other similar products
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Ability and willingness to learn new things quickly

WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • On campus
  • 30 weeks over the course of the academic year
  • 16 hours per week
  • Office and event environment
  • Physical effort/lifting, up to 10 pounds
  • Possible evening/weekend event coverage, within 16 hour per week schedule
