Research Services Coordinator, University Archives and Special Collections-UMass Boston, (Boston, MA)

General Summary: 

Under the direction of the Reference Archivist, the Research Services Coordinator facilitates research services in University Archives and Special Collections and the Archives Research Room in the Joseph P. Healey Library at the University of Massachusetts Boston. This position assists users with in-person and virtual reference and general information requests; supervises day-to-day activities in the Archives Research Room; locates, retrieves, and reshelves rare books, archival collections, and other departmental holdings for researcher and instruction use; provides excellent customer service; coordinates digitization efforts to support researcher access; assists with archival instruction activities; and ensures that university, Healey Library, and user standards and ethics are maintained.

This position works closely with and as part of the University Archives and Special Collections team to identify and implement policies, procedures, and workflows that create a better experience for patrons, and helps to manage and set priorities for a team of student workers. The Research Services Coordinator is responsible for collecting, aggregating, and reporting statistics relating to University Archives and Special Collections operations and activities; and conducting ongoing and special projects to support the goals, priorities, and mission of the Archives, the Library, and the University.
