Position Overview:
The Integrated Systems Librarian will be the primary contact with our system vendor Ex Libris, coordinating the use of Alma, Primo, and Leganto platforms throughout the University Library and across our global university system. As an expert in system configurations and analytics, the Integrated Systems Librarian will provide instruction, assist in creating custom reports, and co-chair the Alma and Primo operations committees. The role involves working independently and collaboratively with library staff to implement, assess, and enhance tools and services focusing on usability, accessibility, sustainability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Primo VE Management:
- Manage the Primo VE environment to maximize usefulness across the global network.
- Support and participate in usability testing of Primo VE interfaces.
- Lead evaluation and appropriate testing of new releases.
- Manage Resource Recommender service.
- Coordinate with team on integration projects as needed.
- Serve as a consultant and functional backup to departments as needed.
- Collaborate on technical integration work (NCIP integrations, authentication, etc.) with Library Technology Services colleagues.
- Track and document all configuration decisions.
Alma Support:
- Serve as the primary expert on Alma configurations and monitor all configuration work to evaluate overlap and minimize conflicts.
- Act as the expert on analytics and reports in Alma, creating and running reports as requested and offering training and consultation for departments.
- Liaise between departments using analytics and reports and the Library’s Tableau team.
- Assist with Sushi integrations within Alma as needed.
- Support the creation of sets for large collection-based projects.
- Serve as a functional backup to departments as needed.
- Collaborate on technical integration work (data feeds, NCIP integrations, authentication, etc.) with Library Technology Services colleagues.
- Track and document all decisions and processes as needed.
Ex Libris (General):
- Act as the Library’s primary contact with Ex Libris, monitoring all tickets to ensure prompt resolution.
- Co-chair the Alma Operation Group (Alma-Ops) and the Primo Oversight Group (POG) ensuring effective communication and planning between these groups and the wider Library.
- Support Leganto service as appropriate.
- Serve as project manager for integrating additional libraries into the local LMS.
- Coordinate with unit heads to identify, develop and offer staff training as needed.
Professional Development:
- Represent the Libraries at various local and national user groups such as ELUNA/IGeLU.
- Participate in library, university, consortial, and professional committees and forums.
- Contribute to professional conferences or meetings as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Required:
- MLS/MLIS from an accredited library/information science program
- Ex Libris Certification (required within 6 months of employment).
- Strong knowledge of Ex Libris platforms (Alma, Primo, and Leganto).
- Strong focus on customer service and user experience
- Excellent oral and written skills to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals and the ability to maintain required documentation
- Familiarity with library-wide business processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired:
- Working knowledge of MARC and XML/XSLT
- Familiarity with statistics and analytical tools
- Familiarity with COUNTER and SUSHI data protocols
- Experience with Tableau
