Evening Reference Librarian, Ohrstrom Library St. Paul’s School (Concord, NH)

Status: Exempt, Full-time, 48 weeks per year

Reporting to the Library Director, the Evening Reference Librarian provides library research and circulation assistance to students, faculty, staff, and other library patrons. Designs and implements library programming and services for students and other library users. Works with departments outside the library on initiatives that contribute to creating an inclusive library program. Assist with other tasks within the library. This position is an evening position, the library is open until 9:30pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide the full range of professional reference services to the community, offering assistance and instruction in
    the use of online research databases, the online library catalog, and various reference resource materials.
  • Assist in maintaining, editing, and preparing LibGuides and other instructional materials.
  • Ability to assist patrons as needed in the basic use of computers, printers, photocopiers, scanners, etc.
  • Develops and supports outreach and engagement initiatives in collaboration with other members of the library staff, as well as with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the community, such as academic support, faculty, DEIJ, and other school departments.
  • Takes a lead role in promoting library services and resources via social media and traditional methods including promotional publications and book displays.
  • Designs, implements, and manages passive programs and exhibits for students in support of the academic program.
  • Develops and sustains collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff in support of community engagement with the library.
  • Assist with library projects (such as shelf reading, inventories), and other tasks, as needed.
  • Prepares library materials and displays in support of school wide events.
  • Works with library director to maintain the programming budget, including vendor contracts.
  • Participates in collection development.
