General Description:
This position is responsible for providing assistance to the patrons of the library including planning, organizing, and conducting programs, overseeing collection development, and assisting patrons on a daily basis. Reports to Children’s Librarian.
Primary Essential Functions:

- Provide reference and readers’ advisory service to patrons.
- Plan, organize, and conduct programming for patrons, including after-school programs for middle school aged children.
- Assist in collection development and maintenance.
- Promote programming through various means including printed and electronic media.
- Supervise volunteers.
- Create displays within library.
- Assist in developing goals and policies.
- Provide instruction to patrons on various platforms.
- Maintain the resource room.
- Conduct special programming as required.
- Update calendar.
- Performs similar or related work as required.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent, with an Associate’s Degree preferred. One to up to three years of experience in a responsible administrative position required, library or municipal experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
