Family Archivist, (Boston, MA)

Boston Attorney Thomas Hemnes seeks part-time assistant in collecting, organizing and digitizing family records comprising hundreds of documents, photographs and objects inherited from more than five generations of ancestors from Norway, Denmark, Holland, Germany, Scotland and Ireland.  The goal is to create a cohesive and permanent record of the family history in both digital and hard-copy form that is searchable, reviewable and inheritable by current and following generations.   Hemnes is a published author, and the result may also be used to support a memoir.

Hours are flexible and hourly rate $20-22/hour depending on level of experience.  The documents are located at Hemnes’ home in Boston’s South End, but they would be delivered to the assistant, who would work from home.  Persons who are close to completing coursework or recent graduates preferred.
