Part-Time Boston Arts Academy Library Assistant, (Boston, MA)

Seeking a library assistant to work 20 hours per week to assist in the Boston Arts Academy High School Library. Hours are from 1:00pm – 5:00pm Monday through Thursday, 11:00 AM-3:00 PM Fridays.

Tasks include assisting students with homework, supervising after-school tutors and volunteers, creating book displays, facilitating circulation, shelving, processing new books,, and technology maintenance and troubleshooting. Other duties as assigned.

This position is great for individuals seeking experience in a school library setting and who aren’t shy about interacting directly with students. We are a small library, and everyone does a bit of everything, so it’s an exciting opportunity to get experience in all parts of how a library works.

Pay: $19/hr

Preferred Qualifications:

*Current student in a masters program for Library and Information Science. Ideally, you have

taken coursework relating to serving teen populations.

*Experience in customer service roles and/or working with teen populations in any capacity

*Experience working in a school, particularly an after-school programming role

*Knowledge of Young Adult literature and trends

*Boston Resident preferred, everyone welcome to apply
