Children’s/Teen Librarian – Lincoln Public Library, (Lincoln, MA)

Lincoln Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Children’s/Teen Librarian to join our vibrant, warm Youth Services team! Position Overview:

As our Children’s/Teen Librarian, you’ll play a vital role in supporting and engaging our young patrons, with a growing emphasis on teen services. Working under the supervision of our Co-Head of Youth Services Librarians, you’ll have the opportunity to develop creative programs, curate diverse collections, and foster a love of reading and learning in our community’s youth.

Key Responsibilities:

– Design and implement engaging programs for teens and children

– Maintain and develop the teen collection

– Provide reference and reader’s advisory service

– Conduct outreach to schools and community organizations

– Collaborate with teachers and school librarians

– Assist with management of Youth Services content on the library’s website and social media

Qualifications:

– Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science

– Experience in children’s or teen library services preferred

– Proficiency in social media and current technology

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Competitive benefits are included and the salary ranges from $31.98/hour to $40.53/hour in 9 steps.

Work Schedule:

37.5 hours per week  including one Saturday per month and at least one evening shift per week. This position requires flexibility to work some evenings and weekends to support youth programming.
