Job Summary
As a full partner in the educational experience, the CCRI Library provides materials, resources, and services which support the curriculum, enhance teaching and learning, and encourage independent and lifelong learning.

The Library fosters information literacy and critical thinking skills, collaborative learning, and intellectual development. The Library offers a welcoming environment and a commitment to support the diverse cultural and intellectual interests of both the college and the local communities. The Learning Services Librarian at the Warwick campus is responsible for coordinating reference and instruction services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule weekly reference desk coverage for librarians at the Warwick Campus.
  • Assist patrons in person, online, and via telephone providing reference services.
  • Instruct library patrons in the use of the online catalog, periodical databases, other library resources, and the Internet.
  • Answer phone/on-line chat reference service.
  • Provide research assistance on an appointment basis.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the reference collection and on-line services.
  • Coordinate library instruction sessions at the Warwick Campus.
  • Conduct outreach to faculty about library instruction services.
  • Plan and conduct library instruction sessions.
  • Prepare and update library guides and materials.
  • Assess and Record instruction session data for statistics.
  • Record reference transaction data.

Minimum Requirements

  • MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program, required
  • Academic library reference experience, required.
  • Experience providing library instruction, required.
  • Experience with web-based resources and electronic databases, required.

Competencies

  • Experience with OCLC WMS preferred.
  • Experience with SpringShare products (LibChat, LibInsights, LibCal, etc.), preferred.
  • Ability to foster connections and collaborate with faculty and staff across the college.
