Description
The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Cleared Geospatial Data Cataloger to work at a customer location in Springfield, VA. This is an exciting opportunity to collect, populate, store, and maintain media and metadata within an ILS. Data to be catalogued is derived from the customer’s collection of geospatial and textual products (maps, charts, CDs, DVDs, textual material, intelligence documents, handheld photography, and digital datasets).
Primary Responsibilities. The candidate shall perform the following duties:
a. Populate Integrated Library Systems (ILS) database using current customer modified MARC 21, AACR2R, and RDA standards.
b. Follow all established customer cataloging guidelines.
c. Conduct metadata reviews and verification of data integrity.
d. Request and maintain access to security domain systems (SBU/NIPR, SecNet, COE).
e. Provide weekly metrics tracking number of items cataloged.
f. Transportation of physical media (up to 25lbs.)
g. Utilize a ladder in the scope of filing.
h. Maintain proper file management in accordance with division standards.
i. Conduct collection maintenance services, e.g. filing, bar codes, storage, in process mail, etc.
