LIBRARIAN I – CHILDREN’S SERVICES JOB POSTING, Reading Public Library, (Reading, MA)

The Reading Public Library in Reading, MA is hiring a full time Children’s Services Librarian.

Are you passionate about youth services and ready to join a dynamic team? The Reading Public Library seeks an enthusiastic and flexible Children’s Librarian. In this role, you will be responsible for creating an inclusive library experience for children from birth through grade six, as well as supporting their families, educators, and caregivers.

You will plan and implement innovative library programs, assist patrons with reference and research, curate engaging collections, and promote youth literacy. We are looking for a self-starter with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The ability to build collaborative relationships within the community is also essential.

This non-exempt 37.5 hour a week position includes one evening per week, an every third Saturday rotation, and is eligible for Sunday hours at 1.5 OT rate. Benefits and ample professional development opportunities are included.
