Description
Arizona State University Library is recruiting a collaborative Social Sciences Librarian for the Downtown Phoenix campus. This position is situated within the Engagement and Learning Services Directorate. The Social Sciences Division is composed of a team of librarians who are dedicated to shaping the future of student and faculty instructional support and research endeavors at ASU. Reporting to the Head of the Social Sciences Division, the successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of scholarly information across many disciplines and will connect learners across ASU’s physical campuses and online programs to library information and resources. This individual will work closely with campus partners on the Downtown Phoenix campus to build strong multidisciplinary relationships supporting research and student success. They will support the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions, and the communications and social work disciplines on all campuses. The incumbent will help define new services, develop programs and collections, and serve as a resource for scholarly communication, research data management, and information literacy.
The Social Sciences Librarian fulfills the responsibilities expected of a continuing appointment track Academic Professional, including position effectiveness, professional contributions, service, and collaboration and partnership. ASU Library strongly encourages early-career librarians to apply.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
● Master’s degree in library and/or information science from an American Library Association accredited program by the hire date
● A degree in a social sciences field
Preferred Qualifications:
● Library experience providing services and support to social sciences disciplines
● Experience providing reference consultations
● Experience providing instructional services
● Experience with social sciences research methods
● Demonstrated understanding of the research process and data lifecycle in the social sciences
● Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to work creatively and effectively both independently and as a team member
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Salary and Rank: This is a Continuing Appointment track Academic Professional position; Assistant/Associate Librarian rank and salary dependent upon experience.
