George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library is seeking a Part-time Youth Services Programming Assistant to join our Youth Services Programming team. The Youth Services Programming Assistant will engage teens, tweens, children and families, to enhance their experience at the library. We are looking for someone who has some experience creating and leading programs or is eager to learn these skills. This is a permanent part-time position, 20-24 hours per week.
In This Role You Will:
- Work to create a welcoming culture for teens, parents and children at the library.
- Help with Youth Services programs as needed, including planning and leading programs.
- Provide assistance to patrons including reference services and making recommendations of materials.
- Participate in the library’s school and outreach programs.
- Perform daily circulation tasks.
- Work cohesively with team members to solve problems and meet department goals.
You Will Need To Be
- Organized and meticulous.
- Friendly, outgoing, and able to work with people of all ages.
- Able to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Able to supervise young people’s use of the library, including setting boundaries and redirecting as needed.
You Will Need To Have
- Knowledge of child development
- High school diploma or equivalent PLUS experience working with young people, BA in related field preferred
- Customer Service experience
- Strong communication, writing, and speaking skills

- Salary range starts at $20.00/hour.

Schedule: Must be available to work afternoons, evenings and Saturdays (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM). If the decision is made to reopen on Sundays, you will be expected to work 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM as part of the regular rotation.
