Boston College Libraries seeks an Instructional Services Librarian. This person will bring an innovative, energetic and collaborative approach to their work as well as knowledge and expertise in teaching information and digital literacy skills. Reporting to the AUL, Research Services and Educational Initiatives this position provides library instructional services in a robust program for First-Year Writing Seminar students and collaborates with faculty on library course objectives and student learning outcomes. Additionally, this position will be part of a team supporting Messina College, Boston College’s two-year residential college for first-generation and high financial need students. Librarians identifying as a member of one of these groups or with experience working with these populations are encouraged to apply.
This person plans, coordinates and seeks out new opportunities and programming for library teaching and student learning. Keeping abreast of current trends in pedagogy, learning theory, instructional theory, teaching technologies and instructional design this person works collaboratively with library instructors on teaching effectiveness and assessment. The successful candidate will be committed to working collaboratively and providing a cohesive library instruction program that relies on meaningful assessment of the impact of library teaching on student learning. This person also participates in reference services and contributes to the development of online instructional content to facilitate access to library resources and instructional services.

Requirements
MLS from an ALA accredited school
One year of experience working in an academic library in providing reference and instruction
Familiarity with best practices in Information Literacy instruction based on the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a flexible and adaptable attitude as well as a strong focus on customer service.
Experienced technology skills, knowledge of current trends, and ability to evaluate and apply new technologies in teaching and learning.
Ability to work with faculty, staff, and students.
Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, written and oral communication skills
